The expression of madness and pain, of destruction, social chaos and personal suffering is seen today as the most important thing in art. Aesthetics and beauty move more into the background. This seems to be a sign of times. It is the artists among the people who dream up the future, but if you walk through a contemporary museum it seems as though they are conjuring up the downfall.
